Faculty of Catholic Theology Day Celebrated

Svečano obilježen Dan Katoličkog bogoslovnog fakulteta

On October 18, 2018, the festive Eucharistic celebration in the seminary church of St. Cyril and Methodius in Sarajevo and the appropriate academy in the Paul VI Hall at the Vrhbosna Seminary falling at the Feast of St. Luke the Evangelists marked the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Catholic Theology (KBF) Day, who took this saint for its patron.
 
The Holy Mass was led by Cardinal Vinko Puljić, Archbishop Metropolitan of Vrhbosna and Faculty of Catholic Theology in Sarajevo Grand Chancellor, in communion with the Military Bishop of B&H Mons. Toma Vukšić with KBF professors, seminary educators and other priests’ concelebrating and blessing by other KBF students, nuns and other believers.
 
Welcome address was delivered by Dean Darko Tomašević thanking everyone who came “to share joy on the occasion of the Faculty of Catholic Theology Day, which has been for 128 years serving the Church and the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.” He briefly presented the KBF activities in academic 2017/2018 by mentioning the organization of several scientific conferences and theological forums and various editions. He also added that the graduated Masters of Theology are “cake cream” of their work.
 
Rector Škrijelj also expressed his congratulations and commendation, stressing that academic community is honored to receive ten new graduates who will spread spirituality and good, emphasizing the religion as an important segment of society. He also recalled that University of Sarajevo is about to celebrate its 70th Anniversary, whereas KBF begun conducting its activities 128 years ago.
 
A convenient lecture “Pope Francis and the consecrated life’s institutions - theological-legal aspects” was delivered by a sister from the Society of Daughters of God's Love, an assistant professor at the KBF, Dr. Bernarda Horvat. She briefly sketched the theological-legal accents from Pope Francis’ papers and addresses to persons and institutions of consecrated life.
 
Cardinal Puljić handed awards to best students in 2017/2018 academic year: Matej Petrašić and Josip Dedić. Additionally, a retired Professor Franjo Topić received a Charter of gratitude upon retiring.
