“Strategic Knowledge” Theological Open Lecture

A theological open lecture on topic “Strategic Knowledge” will be held at the Faculty of Catholic Theology in Sarajevo (J. Stadlera, 5) on Monday, 4 February 2019, starting at 20:00. Guest lecturers are Doz. Dr. Pavle Mijović (KBF) and Mr. Igor Kožemljakin (Jewish Community in BiH). Moderator is Doz. Dr. Mario Bernadić (KBF).

German composer Carl Maria von Weber in the early 19th century noted that scarcity of books once hindered the progress of science, and how their abundance makes confusion and prevents one’s own thinking. From that time until now, we have additionally received radio, TV, Internet, portals, social networks and e-books. In this sense, it is often heard that today's man is struggling with something called information overload, and sometimes he is also heard for the "information salad" syntagm. In the indicated situation, a man often feels like he never knew more and never less.
Under the topic “Strategic knowledge” we want to think about how today in a multitude of unreliable information recognize reliable and true one. But also, the question arises as to how to get rid, within the mass, those in a massive crowd - superficial and unnecessary from our point of view, even if they were reliable and true? The question of reliable and high-quality strategic information and knowledge pertains to many things, both for personal and shared socio-political life. Some information are able to taint and poison both individuals and society, and some other heal them. We are interested in how to recognize and bypass the first ones, and how to reach and adopt and use through the life the second type...
